I WISH I COULD

Few days back, while I was coming home from school. I was sitting in my van and my eyes caught a sight. a sight that was profound yet divine. A lot of thoughts came in my mind when I saw few boys sprinted on a bike and a little boy who was repairing a bicycle in his masters shop gazed at that sprinting bike with wonder. For him, it is a mirage, and for people like us, who are blessed with everything still want more. His eyes clearly displayed that he want to experience the joy of riding a bike. But God has given him bicycles that are not even his own.

I pondered a lot, and jotted down my sentiments.

I Wish I Could
~ Vedika Bhatt

There was a boy,
a bicycle mechanic he was.
Little did he know,
it was against laws.
In the age where others are sent school
he is repairing cycles with his tool.

His dreamy eyes caught a sight.
In a speed, a boy sprinting his bike.
He turned his eyes back to his cycle.
I wish I had, he said to himself.
A mirage for him, Oh! his plight.

There are also boys,
who don't work as mechanic.
Privileged enough, they go to school.
before a child mechanic, they appear so cool.
There eyes are just devoid of dreams.
Absence of mirage, perhaps, it seems.

What they want, is what they get.
Nothing's there for which they could regret.

What an irony! one works, other smirks
on his opulence, which to him still sucks.
Life's not a bed of roses
Some achieves, some loses.
