CODEX CORNER

BETWEEN THE PAGES OF A BOOK, LIES A LOVELY PLACE WHICH LETS YOU TRAVEL THE WORLD EVEN WITHOUT MOVING YOUR FEET.”

Reading, which has been my favorite hobby constantly from abounding years still places a huge position of obsession within me. What’s the reason behind it? Well, the reasons are so many. Reading makes us capable for dealing our daily life situations, friendships, relationships, anxiety, stress and what not. There are so many self-help genre books which helps to tackle situations. Reading makes us think positively, empathetic and sympathetic. Reading not only improves our reading and understanding skills, but also improves our writing skills too. Reading makes us feel relax but less lethargic. It improves focus, communicating skills, vocabulary, confidence, personality, etiquettes, grammar, knowledge and so bountiful of things. These all the motives encourage and builds me as a book lover. During childhood and early teenage days I was so addicted to Ruskin Bond’s story books. Subsequently, my interest converted to non – fictional genre books like self-help, biographies, autobiographies, memoir, etc. Recently, I read an autobiographical book of Nepalese/Indian actress ‘Manisha Koirala’. It is such a heart touching and motivating book which describes the roller coaster ride of the actress about how she struggled with her cancer and then later found a triumph over it along with the wisdom provided by the author from her life’s experience. I learnt a lot through that book. The end of reading that book, made me curious to read more books. I further initiated myself to read one more self-help genre book named ‘Building A Winning Personality by Rashid Merchant’. I can bet you that book indeed helps in shaping and polishing our personality. From basic manners to performing skills everything is clearly described in the book. There are so many more books to build up the confidence in you. Currently, I’m reading a book called ‘Chicken Soup For The Teenage Soul’. I’ve read a few chapters and they provide wisdom for how to face embarrassment, lack of confidence, shyness, cowardness and become brave and optimistic. I hope I continue my reading habit which I also call learning habit. There’s no doubt that I’m a book lover. I really appreciate and feel self-assured with my reading habits. Because I do believe that glamour may occur when we read books.

THANK YOU
